The days leading up to Gustav’s American landfall were pretty scary for us New Orleanians. Ray Nagin, the mayor, was on television forecasting doom and destruction, said it was the storm of the century, et cetera.

Turned out to be rather mild.

Looks promising! Will it be possible to embed indiemapper in other web applications, something similar to FusionCharts?

I was wondering if there will be a different pricing rubric for students or if the 30$/month is for everyone? Thank you for your help with this.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your comments, everyone!

Bjørn: Indiemapper only produces static maps. However, it exports these maps as SVG or as PNG / JPEG and you can embed these images anywhere you like. We’ve also included the ability to export thematic attributes in your SVG which opens up lots of interactive possibilities if you’re good with that format.

Ben: Yes, there will be academic pricing! It will be $20 / month and you’ll need a valid university / college / school email to sign up. For full details, visit: http://indiemapper.com/student.php
